London marathon 2008

More than 34,000 finish the third largest London Marathon

More than 34,000 people finished the 2008 Flora London Marathon today, after 35,044 people started the race in Blackheath this morning.

This makes the 2008 race the third biggest of the 28 London Marathons held since it started in 1981.

The number of finishers is likely to rise very slightly as a number of starters’ chips had not yet been counted by Sunday evening.
