HASTINGS Runners were well represented at a five-mile race near Battle on a pleasant Saturday morning.

Thirty-four Runners were among the 220 people to finish the second Christmas Pud­ding Dash at Ashburnham Place.

Danny Blackman was the pick of the bunch in 13th position with a time of 34 min­utes and seven seconds, although Timothy Bell, Paul Moon and John Western all made the top 30.

Nick Hall, of Hastings Athletic Club, came eighth in 32.41 at an event raising money for Martha Trust, which provides care for the profoundly disabled.

The winner was Nick Barrable, of Ton-bridge AC, in 28.11 - 36 seconds ahead of runner-up Paul Holdaway (Bexhill Runners).
